Welcome to AsTeRICS!

The AsTeRICS project is now finished and rated EXCELLENT by the commission's reviewers. It has led to the development of a product that is marketed and delivered to clients.  

The goal of the project was to develop a construction set for assistive technologies which can be adapted to the motor abilities of end-users. AsTeRICS is intended to allow access to different devices such as PCs, cell phones and smart home devices, with all functionality integrated in a platform adapted as much as possible to each user.

The main objective of the project was to develop a support platform that facilitates and improves communication resources of people with motor disabilities in their upper limbs. 

The target group for AsTeRICS are adults with motor disabilities in the upper limbs, with no cognitive impairment, no perceptual limitations (neither visual nor auditory) and with basic skills in using technologies such as PCs, cell phones, electronic agendas, etc. 

The AsTeRICS product fulfils all the mentioned preassumptions and is provided in form of an open-source software in the Downloads section of this site and as a preconfigured device offered from distributing companies (see asterics.harpo.com.pl).
